Benefits of Membership

The Heart & Stroke/Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence supports research and education on the prevention and cure of cardiovascular disease. As part of the HSRLCE, members have priority access to core facilities and input into future plans for the Centre. Member trainees will have an opportunity to apply to our competitive Fellowship and Studentship programs. We also encourage members, colleagues, and students to attend our monthly Distinguished Visiting Professor Lecture Series, as well as our Annual Cardiovascular Scientific Day conference. We provide a forum for cutting edge research and a platform encouraging collaborations between our members. Each member will be kept up to date with announcements and the Centre’s activities through regular email correspondence, biannual newsletters and biennial reports.

Retaining Membership

In order to accurately reflect the needs of our membership we will occasionally request that members participate in special retreats, or working groups/meetings related to our education, research or outreach program.

Eligibility

The HSRLCE membership is a network of individuals involved in Cardiovascular research and education. Our membership crosses pillars, departments, and institutions. Criteria for membership includes those candidates with a cardiac focus and an appointment with the University of Toronto (regardless of level), and evidence of excellence in cardiovascular research and education. Early, mid and advanced career investigators are welcome. All applications are reviewed by the HSRLCE operations committee.
